"Summer" Co-ops!

I was going to start all these last week, but I have been at the hospital.

It's time to order for summer knitting!

The low-down is that there is a 2-skein colourway minimum (okay to split with someone else, yes undyed counts as a colourway) and my colourways are the lowest price I have available (the over ten skeins price) or sometimes even $1/skein lower than that. I'll also be offering undyed for most yarns if you want to try dyeing yourself. Shipping from them to me is INCLUDED in the price per skein (even the stuff that comes from overseas). Shipping from me to you will be the same, but I won't charge the current raise in postage because I haven't updated my pages yet. If you order on more than one coop I'll combine all your yarn to make things as cheap as possible.

If there is interest I will add a roving coop as well.

I'm thinking that coops will close on June 7th with payment due by June 10th, but if there is a substantial order that needs to wait a bit longer, that would be alright as well.

Some notes on dyeing/colour - most of what's pictured in the colourway list is purewool or ardara. Both of those, as well as the mikado turn out just like the pictures. Peace fleece and Alpaca tend to be a little bit more "matte" whereas cottons tend to be a bit more saturated with colour. Keep in mind that since it's all hand-dyed, it may not be EXACTLY alike, but I will NOT send out stuff that I don't think is accurate. If you buy purewool's own colourways, remember that they are OFTEN not as pictured - however, some of them are consistent in how they are dissimilar (for example, "praga" is always hot pink and dark green) so feel free to ask questions.

My colourways are here:
http://community.livejournal.com/yarny_bits/11418.html

COOP #1 - COTTON, ALPACA & SOCK YARN!!!
In order for this coop to work I need orders for at least 36-skeins total.

ALPACA Blend
50%Alpaca 50%Wool
1 skein - 131grams/4 ounces, 240-250 yds
MY COLOURWAYS - $15/skein
UNDYED - $12/skein

Pima Cotton (super crazy soft with a slight crimp texture)
One Skein = 4 ounces, 270-280yards
This yarn is great for those who don't want wool longies!!!
MY COLOURWAYS - $14/skein
UNDYED - $12/skein

Organic Cotton 3-ply
One Skein = 4 ounces, 195-205yards
Not as soft as the Pima (which is also organic, it's just this one is called "organic cotton") but still okay for baby clothes. Knits up VERY similar to 3-ply purewool but is slightly more polished.
MY COLOURWAYS - $14/skein
UNDYED - $12/skein

(superwash) SOCK WOOL ***NEW***
One Skein = 4 ounces, 425-435yards
75% wool, 25% nylon, machine washable!
(May dye up slightly paler than pictured colourways)
MY COLOURWAYS - $16/skein
UNDYED - $11/skein

COOP #2 - PEACE FLEECE
In order for this coop to work I need orders for at least 25-skeins total.

Peace Fleece is 2-ply
30% Mohair 70% Russian Wool worsted
One Skein = appx 4 ounces, 200 yards
Peace fleece is good for grown-up and baby knits. It felts well if you put elbow-grease into it. If you order my colourways, the yarn will soften up a lot more when I dye it as well.

MY COLOURWAYS -
Worsted Weight: $10/skein
Sport Weight: $11/skein

UNDYED & THEIR COLOURWAYS -
Worsted Weight: $6/skein
Sport Weight: $7/skein

COOP #3 - MIKADO & ARDARA
For this coop to run I need to order at least 24 skeins total

MIKADO:
94% with a 6% nylon thread running through it to create a lucious NUBBLY thick/thin twist
AWESOME for hats & scarve & shawls. Never made one, but I think it'd make awesome blankets too.
One Skein = 4 ounces, 70 yards

MY COLOURWAYS - $15/skein
UNDYED - $13.50/skein

4-ply Ardara
light worsted soft Irish wool
One Skein = 110grams/4 ounces, appx 250yards

COOP #4 - PUREWOOL
In order to make this coop work I need to order at least 100 skeins total.

MY COLOURWAYS:
Merino 218, 440 & 950 - $14/skein
3 ply & simil boucle - $14.50/skein

THEIR COLOURWAYS:
Merino 218, 440 & 950 - $8.50/skein
3 ply & simil boucle - $9.50/skein

UNDYED:
Merino 218, 440 & 950 - $8/skein
3 ply & simil boucle - $9/skein

All coops are open as of now.
Feel free to post your orders (or questions) in the comments or to email me at maialaia @ yahoo .com
Please DO NOT PAY until I tell you too.
Yarn totals and Shipping + pp fees will be separate charges.

Orders will be screened, questions will be unscreened.

I would like to join your co-op (I have Pay pal now) so I can order from you and avoid that pesky money order.
COOP #2 - PEACE FLEECE - 8 undyed, worsted weight. does this make any sense? I'm not used to this kind of thing, so walk a newbie through. :P

There's not enough interest in the PF co-op to make it go right now and
I don't have the fundage to make up the difference, like I do sometimes. I think I'll try again in a month or so.

How close are you to hitting the minimum? I want to get some, but if we can't hit the minimum I may go with something else.

Were fine with the purewool and the cotton/alpaca/sock yarn co-ops but the peace fleece and ardara didn't have enough interest.

the peace fleece coop didn't have enough interest to go right now.
Do you want to change the PF portion of your order to purewool or wait for another month or so until that coop goes?

Color check....
Does harvest have peach or orange in it?

Re: Color check....
Orange.

A good way to check colours is to look at SITA and if you see any colour tint that is NOT in the grey/black range, then your computer is skewed that direction.

Sorry for being dumb, I just want to order the right stuff.
